This Privacy Policy explains what information ZenRootsBeauty.com (the “Site”) collects, why, and what choices you have. Zen Roots is operated by Zen Roots LLC (“Zen Roots,” “we,” “us,” “our”), and its books are published under the Ledgerstone Press imprint. We keep data collection to the minimum we need to run a quiet poetry catalog. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles.
1. The short version

We collect your email if you ask for the free reading or write to us; we use a measure of Site traffic to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used; and our email, future checkout, hosting, and analytics are run by trusted third parties (named below). We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
2. What we collect, and why
- Email address (and any name you give us) — when you sign up for the free reading or our list, or when you email us. We use it to send the free reading, occasional notes when a new volume arrives, and to reply to you. Email is handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email provider, using double opt-in: after you sign up, you receive a confirmation email and are added to the list only once you confirm. Legal basis, where applicable: your consent.
- Messages you send us — when you write to hello@zenrootsbeauty.com. We use them only to handle your request.
- Purchase information (when paid products are offered) — paid digital products will be sold through Lemon Squeezy acting as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment and billing details directly; we do not receive or store your full payment-card information. We receive limited order information (such as your email and what you bought) to provide support and, where you have consented, to recognize you as a customer on our list.
- Site-usage data — we use Google Analytics (via the MonsterInsights plugin) to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used: pages visited, general location, device and browser type, and how visitors arrive. This is reported to us in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally by name.
- Server logs and security — our host (Bluehost) and standard web infrastructure may log IP addresses and request data for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run third-party ad networks on the Site.
4. Who processes data for us
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers, each handling data under its own privacy terms:
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email list and delivery (your email address and list activity).
- Lemon Squeezy — Merchant of Record / checkout, when paid products are offered (payment, billing, tax, receipts).
- Bluehost — web hosting (Site files and server logs).
- Google Analytics (via MonsterInsights) — aggregate Site-usage measurement.
- Google Workspace — our email inbox (messages you send to hello@zenrootsbeauty.com).
5. How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as you stay on the list — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep any order-related records as needed for support, accounting, and legal obligations. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.
6. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses the cookies it needs to function and, through Google Analytics, a small set of analytics cookies that help us measure traffic. If you do not want analytics cookies, you can control or block cookies in your browser settings. If non-essential cookies are used where consent is legally required (for example, for visitors in the EU and UK), the Site will present a consent banner and will not set those cookies until you agree.
7. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any message. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of (port) your personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or of targeted advertising, and to not be treated differently for exercising those rights.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You may request access to, deletion of, or correction of your personal information, and you may opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell the personal information of anyone.
- EU and UK residents (GDPR / UK-GDPR). You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you may object to certain processing or withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect processing already carried out). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply to those transfers.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please email hello@zenrootsbeauty.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page. Material changes take effect when posted.
